Introduction

FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL

On the behalf of the faculty and staff at Govt Girls Degree College Barikot Swat , it is my pleasure to welcome you to our College website.College grooms the latent talent of its students turning them into potential civilian fully capable of facing the challenges of the world.The aim of the college is to provide knowledge, skills, ability, attitudes, and beliefs that are essential for a productive and successful life. Our college is imparting quality education that would enrich every student’s cultural, intellectual, social life. We endeavor to facilitate the learner to gain knowledge and experience enabling them to achieve meaningful individualistic development and the well being of society at large. Co-operation & perfect co-ordination from each member of Govt Girls Degree College Barikot Swat has helped us to create a favorable climate and thereby, maintaining quality of Education.

I hope that the Student-Teachers of the present batch will make best use of the available resources and attain the desired attitude. I wish them a bright future and success wherever they serve.

College History

GGDC Barikot was established in 2006 by the government to provide easy and quality education to the people in the jurisdiction of barikot at their door step.Its old campus was adjacent to GGHS Barikot.Due to insufficient space a new building was built which is located in a pleasent area of Barikot.The new campus was built in 2012 with the assistance of UAE.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

It is binding upon every student of the college to follow the following rules and regulations:

  1. Every student is bound to observe the religious obligations and to show tolerance for other religions, beliefs, customs and traditions. Promoting communal, regional and religious disharmony among students or college staff is strictly prohibited.
  2. Every student has to be loyal to the Ideology of Pakistan and is not allowed to commit any actions which may damage the honour and integrity of the motherland.
  3. Every student has to demonstrate tolerance, patience, and politeness in his dealing with teachers and fellow students.
  4. Every student should respect the college teachers and the college administration and abide by the rules and regulations introduced from time to time. Any form of harassment of any student or other employee of the college or visitor is strictly prohibited.
  5. Every student should pledge to keep his mind and body clean and must demonstrate good manners and should develop the spirit to help and serve his fellow students.
  6. Every student must receive his education keenly and participate in sports and co-curricular activities with honesty and sincerity;
  7. Every student must take care of the public and college property and persuade others to do so.
  8. Every student, for any personal concern, has to directly contact the concerned Incharge. Improper interference in the academic, administrative, sporting, social or other activities is strictly prohibited.
  9. Every student shall regularly observe the college and class timing and shall ensure his/her regular presence in the classes such that his/her attendance shall not fall short of the required attendances of the public examining bodies.
  10. Every student shall regularly take class tests and home examinations.
  11. Every student must come to the college in the college prescribed uniform.
  12. Every student must provide correct information to the college administration, whenever required.
  13. Every student must observe all the rules regulations related to the class-room, common room, libraryand playgrounds.
  14. Every student must abstain himself from using unfair means in the class tests, home examination and public examination;
  15. Unauthorised audio/video recording/ photography is strictly prohibited;
  16. Every student shall pay all the college, board, or university dues well in time.
  17. Display of any sort of poster/ banner in the college building or boundary wall is not allowed.
  18. tudents are not allowed to use or keep cellular phones.
  19. Every student shall observe the cultural and social norms of the society.
  20. In order to ensure the code of conduct and discipline, the Chief Proctor, and the staff proctor may extend the range of duties of the Proctorial monitors to check indiscipline and indecency among the students even outside the college premises.

  21. Minimum required attendance:

    At least 75% attendance of the delivered lecturers is compulsory for a student in theory and practical classes in each subject. Students falling short of 75 % attendance in any subject shall not be allowed to take the annual public examination of the board / university.

    Struck off on Account of Absenteeism:

    A student who remains absent for more than six consecutive days without approved leave shall be struck off the college rolls without any notice.

    Re- Admission:

    A student whose admission is cancelled or whose name is struck off on the basis of long absence can apply for re-admission to the Principal within 15 days of the issue of such notification. The Principal may allow her re-admission on payment of the Re-admission fee / Admission Fee and any other outstanding dues.

    Re-admission for the second time in a current academic session is not generally allowed. However, genuine and deserving cases are submitted to the Director Higher Education on the basis of valid documentary proof with the condition that the applicant can make up for his shortages and can fulfil the requirement of 75% attendance during the remaining period of the session. Such students shall pay all the Government fees and Pupils Fund except security and BISE / University charges.

    ii. 2nd year and 4th year students have to deposit all the dues before the commencement of their classes.

    iii. Roll Numbers of Board/University examinations are issued only when a student clears dues and has the

    required number of attendance at his credit.

    iv. BISE Registration Fee and Sports Fee is payable by 1st Year Students only.

    v. University Registration Fee, Social Work Fee and Sports Fee, if any, is payable only by 3rd Year Students only.

    vi. Students studying Computer Science at any level shall also pay the computer stationary

    charges in every year of their studies.

    vii. Security should be claimed within one month of the termination of the public examination,

    otherwise it will be forfeited in favour of the government.

ADMISSION

Admission to the college is conducted strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Provincial Higher Education Department, BISE Saidusharif swat and University of Swat.

  • College issues admission forms to the candidatesfor inter and degree classes immediately just after the declaration of SSC and HSSC result by the Board/University.
  • The students should get prospectus having Admission form with in ten days after the declaration of result.
  • The College Admission Committee will announce the last date for the submission of the application forms in each case.
  • The Admission form must be filled properlyand must be submitted along with all the required documents /testimonials. The application form duly filled by the candidates shall be supported by attested photocopies of the following document:
    • SSC Certificate for admission at any level of studies
    • Detailed Marks / Provisional Certificate of the last exam passed
    • Character Certificate issued by the learning institution last attended. Where the candidate has passed the last examination in private capacity such certificate shall be signed by a gazetted officer.
    • Domicile Certificate
    • Self / father or Guardian CNIC / Form B
    • Four passport size photographs
    • Quota eligibility certificate in case a candidate applies for a specified quota notified by the government, e.g Sports, Disable or Education Employees quotas, etc.
  • In case of availability of online admission facility for a particular level of studies, candidates shall apply online and hard copies of their application forms along with required documents shall be submitted to the college.
  • Migration Certificate for candidates having passed their examination from other than BISE Swat / University of Swat.
  • The principal may keep 10 % of the total number of seats in each faculty for 15 days for meritorious students who may not turn up for admission within the prescribed time for admission due to unavoidable circumstances. The minimum marks declaring a candidate as meritorious will be determined by the concerned committee of the college.

  • If a student applies for admission one or more years late (maximum upto three years) then she shall produce an affidavit to the effect that she has not been admitted to any college / institution previously and she is availing the opportunity for admission for the first time.

  • Students passing in supplementary examination are not eligible for admission in the academic year in which he has passed the examination.

  • Candidates who fail to confirm their seat by depositing the required fee within the specified period shown on any merit list shall lose their right of admission and his seat will be allotted to the next candidate in order of merit. However, if such candidate(s) turn for admission at a later stage and vacant seats are available then such candidates may be given opportunity before offering admission to next candidate(s) having lower stage on the merit list.

  • Twenty extra marks are rewarded to candidates who are Hafiz-e-Quran provided that they have sanad from a recognized intitution.

  • 5% seats are reseved for sports.

  • The selected candidates must depositstheir admissions fee with in the specified period ,other wise their admission will be deemed as cancelled.

    The form must be submitted with in or before the due date.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

MANUAL FOR STUDENTS:

Step1: Go to www.admission.hed.gkp.pk

Step2: Click on signup to create your account.

o Enter your CNIC/ Form B number (if any).

o Enter your Email Address (if you have email address).

o Enter Your Mobile Number. (This is important. Give your valid mobile number which will be used as your username. Also SMS will be sent on this number to update you about your application).

o Select your mobile number network.

o Enter a password.

o Confirm your password.

o Click on “Create Account”.

o A SMS will be sent to you which will contain your Username and Password. Kindly remember your username and password for further use.

Step3: Verification with Board Data: Select your Academic information. The Name, Father Name and your academic details will be retrieved from Board.

o Select your Highest Exam Passed. Which will be “SSC”.

o Select your Study Group (Science or Arts).

o Select your Session (Annual, Supplementary)

o Select Your Passing year.

o Select your Board from where you have passed Matric Examination.

o Enter your Matric Roll Number.

o Click on “Verification with Board”. It will display Personal Information, your Name and Father Name will appear. The academic information and marks details will appear later. If your name is not displayed then enter all the Personal and Academic information manually.

Step4: Personal Information. Your name and your father name will be displayed. Fill out all form. Kindly provide correct information. Check your details thoroughly; it will not be changed once entered.

o Enter your Date of Birth (as per Matric Certificate)

o Select your Province.

o Select your Domicile.

o Enter Parents mobile no.

o Enter Parents CNIC No.

o Enter your land line number (Optional)

o Enter your Permanent address.

· Select your Province.

· Select your District.

· Select Your Tehsil.

o Enter Your Mailing Address.

o Select Your Religion.

o Select your Gender.

o Select Your Marital Status.

o Upload your recent Picture (optional).

o Click on Save & Next. A message will be displayed “check your information. It will not be changed later. Click OK to continue or CANCEL to Review”. Click OK if your information is correct.

It will save the information and will show your academic details.

Step 5: Academic Information. Your academic information retrieved from Board will be displayed here. Thoroughly check your academic details. If there is any issue, correct it here. The information you entered here will not be changed later. If your data is not displayed here, enter all the information manually. Follow the instructions on the right side of the page.

o Select your Higher Exam Passed.

o Select Your Study Group (Science or Arts) in Matric Exam.

o Select Province of your Board.

o Select your board.

o Select your session of exam (Annual or Supplementary)

o Select Your Matric Exam Passing year.

o Enter Your Roll number.

o Enter Your Marks Obtained.

o Enter Total Marks.

o Select Your Grade in Matric Exam.

o Select Hafiz-e-Quran if you are Hafiz-e-Quran.

o Check your Details again as it will not be changed later.

o Click on “Save Information”. A message will be displayed to check you information. If your information is correct click “OK” or click “Cancel” to review your information.

After Completion of your Profile, you will now be able to apply to a college. To apply, follow the following steps.

Step 6: Applying to a College:

o Select District where you want to apply.

o Select College to which you want to apply.

o Select Desired Level of Studies “Intermediate”.

o Select Program (Arts, Science, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, General Science, and Computer Science).

o Select request against Quota. Select local in the following cases.

· Select Local if your domicile is of the same district where college is located.

· Select local if you have passed your matric exam from the district where college is located.

· Select local if your parents are working as a Govt. Servant in the same district where college is located.

Otherwise select other Quotas (non-Local, Sports, Disabled, and College Employees). You will have to produce relevant document at the time of interview.

o Tick Mark the declaration statement and click “submit application”.

It will show you application form. Review your application. If the application is correct click on “submit and pay application processing fee”.

After Click on “Submit & Pay Application Processing Fee” it will show you short detail of your application.

A) Click on “Proceed with Payment” to pay the application Processing fee i-e Rs=100 per application. It will show the following with Token number. Kindly note the token number. A message will also be sent to you on your mobile number having the token number for this specific application.

B) Go to the nearest Jazz Cash shop before the date mentioned near the token number and deposit Rs= 100 against this token number. You will receive another message “Dear Customer, your Payment of Rs.100.00 against the order # XXXXX has been received. PRN XXXXXXXXXXXX. Thank you for using Jazz Cash.”

C) After Depositing Rs=100. You received a message from HED GoKP “You have successfully submitted you application in “College Name” for “Program Name” in “Quota” ”.

D) Click on “Back to Dashboard” to view your application. The Payment status will be changed to verified when you deposit Rs.100.

E) Repeat the step no 6 if you want to apply for another college or submit an application for another program in the same college. Click on “New Admission Request” to submit another application.

F) Visit www. Admission.hed.gkp.pk/merit_list.php to view merit lists of all college. If you are shortlisted in a merit list, you will receive a message from “HED GoKP” about your shortlisting. Also check Admission.hed.gkp.pk/merit_list.php regularly for merit list and updates.
