Introduction

To help establish a knowledge-based, tolerant and progressive society and to equip the students 'community with all the standards that may shape them into future leaders and entrepreneurs. To be a forward-looking centre for quality education and to shape the students into good humans beings who are able to live a purposeful life.

Our desire is to prepare our students in the light of Quran and Sunnah and to help them uphold and apply principles and practices of Islam for creating a peaceful society. We desire to refine them externally as well as internally to broaden the zone of their spiritual life, with a focus on world as well.

Our aim is to help develop a civilized and socialized society through the means of education. Because it is a systematic process through which adult acquires knowledge, experience, skill and sound attitude. It makes an individual civilized, refined and disciplined. We desire to instill all these virtues in the pupils of this institute to help them make their society progressive and goal oriented.

History of college:

G.G.D.C K.T.S was inaugurated in September 2006. It has a spacious building with student and staff hostels. It is affiliated with BISE for intermediate examination and University of Haripur for degree classes. It is well equipped with science laboratories and a standard library. Since its birth it has given brilliant results in different examinations. The students of this institute have taken the name of this institute to the level of respectable institute of the area. The college has also provided canteen facility for the students. The building consists of 30 canals of land, is most suitable for physical and mental development of students with large playground.

A brief of Co-Curriculum activities:

Societies:

Co-curriculum activities play vital role in the life of students. They polish their skills and abilities which lie outside the domain of curriculum. In this respect societies are organized to let students from different subjects participate in co-curriculum activities. At the moment following societies are working in this institute:

  3. Environmental and social science society
  4. Red Crescent society/blood donation society
  5. Character building society
  6. Science society
  7. English society
  8. Sport society
  9. Dramatic society

These societies give students ample opportunity to show their talent and polish their abilities.

Sports:

Co-Curriculum activities are an important aspect of college education and college is well provided with a spacious playground. Apart from that courts are also available for badminton and basket ball. Indoor games are also organized. Students give zealous representation of college in various sports events organized by Directorate of Higher Education Board and University.

Library:

Library is a valuable asset of college which helps in increasing knowledge of students and is furnished with valuable books and students can avail the facility with the help of a card issued by the college library authorities.

Hostel:

Hostel facility is provided within the institute. One for the students and one for the staff, with some furniture accessories. The rules and regulations are strictly to be followed by the boarders which are listed on the notice board. Few of the rules are as under:

  • Local students are not allowed residence in the hostel.
  • Application for residence in the hostel must be submitted with the commencement of session.
  • Applicant’s academic record, distance from home and moral character will be considered for allocation of room within the hostel.
  • No boarder will be allowed to change or rearrange the room without permission of hostel warden.
  • Every student must be responsible for taking care of her furniture and other items and must have to pay for the damage of college property.

Social work:

Social work is a part of education for degree classes and each student has to complete a fixed period of social work (90 hours) as per University requirement.

In case of emergency first aid is also available for minor injuries or illnesses.

Proctorial board:

An organized Proctorial system is established in the college and one of the staff members is elected as chief proctor and one as Deputy Chief Proctor. Each class is given due representation in the Proctorial Board which helps in maintaining discipline in the college. Moreover this Proctorial system also helps the administration in the implementation of college rules and regulations.

College bus:

G.G.D.C K.T.S Haripur provided bus facility to the local students, which is an added advantage for the student of college

Admission:

Admission to the college is conducted strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations, framed by the Provincial Higher Education Department, BISE Abbottabad and University of Haripur. Admission forms to the candidates will be made available just after the declaration of results by the Board/University. The College Admission Committee will announce the last date for the submission of the application forms in each case.

GENERAL ADMISSION RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. No of seats are allocated by the Government and incase if a student fails to fulfill required criteria, she will not be granted admission.
  2. Admission for intermediate and degree classes will commence from the 10th day of announcement of result. Applicants must have to apply on the form attached to the prospectus.
  3. Following documents must be submitted along with application form:
  1. Provisional certificate of the institute last attended.
  2. Detailed Marks Certificate (DMC).
  3. An attested copy of domicile certificate .
  4. Migration certificate if the applicant has passed from any board other than BISE Abbottabad.
  5. Admission will be conducted on purely merit basis.
  1. 5% seats are reserved for sports students.
  2. Principal has the authority to reserve 10% of the seats for meritorious students.
  3. For the admission in 1st year F.A/F.Sc. it is compulsory that students must have passed all the subjects in matriculation.
  4. Students with “E” grade in matric are not eligible.
  5. Students who recently passed in matriculation will be preferred.
  6. For admission in Science group (Intermediate) students must have passed matric with Science subjects and mathematics. In the same way mathematics is essential for admission in Inter classes.
  7. Age limit for 1st year is 19 years and for 3rd year is 22 years. But those students are exempted who have served in a Government or Semi- Government institute. While for 3rd year over age students will have to pay Rs 1200/- as age relaxation fee as per rules of Haripur University.
  8. For admission in 3rd year 495 marks are required.
  9. Application once registered will not be returned.
  10. Residents of Khalabat Township will be preferred. Applicants from other areas will be considered only if local students are not eligible.
  11. A student once failed in annual exam will not be re-admitted in the same classes.
  12. Migration will be allowed to those students whose Parents/Guardians have been transferred to this district. Admission will be approved by Director Colleges.
  13. For admission each candidate will have to appear before Principal or Admission Committee for interview or test.
  14. Admission can be cancelled on the basis of following reasons:
    1. If wrong information has been submitted by the candidate.
    2. If any student has been absent for more than a week.
  15. In the interest of college, Principal can refuse admission to any candidate.
  16. For admission to different groups a student can submit separate admission forms.
  17. Subject change will be possible within 10 days of the commencement of classes.
  18. A student once admitted will have to abide by all the rules and regulations of college.

Payment of fee and dues:

A student once interviewed and selected by the Principal or Admission committee is considered officially admitted in the college only if the following dues of the college are paid on or before the given date:

Instructions regarding college dues:

  1. All dues must be paid in advance by the students seeking admission to the part -1 of their respective courses.
  2. 2nd year and 4th year students have to deposit all the dues before the commencement of their classes.
  3. Roll numbers of Board/ University examinations are issued only when a student clears his dues and has the required number of attendance at his credit.
  4. BISE registration fee and sport fee is payable by 1st year students only.
  5. University registration fee, Social work fee and sports fee, if any, is payable only by 3rd year only.
  6. Students studying Computer Science at any level shall also pay the computer stationary charges in every year of their studies.
  7. Security should be claimed within one month of the termination of the public examination otherwise it will be forfeited in favour of government.

Fee concession and Scholarship:

  1. Deserving students within the ambit of 10% of the total strength are given fee concession.
  2. Deserving and meritorious students are also granted financial assistance/prizes from pupil’s fund.
  3. Beside these, scholarships like MORA, Fauji Foundation etc also floated from different agencies.
  4. Only one financial assistance is to be availed at one time.
  5. Any of the above privileges is withheld in case a student is short of the required attendances, remain willfully absent from the class-tests or internal examinations or shows poor result.
  6. : White Shalwar and Qamees with black Shawl, Cardigan, Shoes and Socks.
  7. : White Shalwar and Qamees with Dupatta and black shoes with white/black Socks.

Note: The college administration reserves the right to prevent any student dressed in improper uniform from entering into the college premises. College uniform is obligatory for all students.

Minimum required class attendance:

At least 75% attendance of the delivered lectures is compulsory for a student in theory and practical classes in each subject. Students falling short of 75% attendance in any subject shall not be allowed to take the annual public examination of the board/university.

Identity cards:

The college identity card is issued to all students within fifteen days of their admission. It is binding upon every student to obtain the college identity card and display it on their chest during the college hours. In case of loss or spoilage, a duplicate identity card is issued on payment of a fine of Rs.50/-

Code of conduct:

It is binding upon every student of the college to follow rules and regulation:

  1. Every student is bound to observe the religious obligations and to show tolerance for other religions, beliefs,customs and traditions. Promoting communal, regional and religious disharmony among students or college staff is strictly prohibited.
  2. Every student has to be loyal to the ideology of Pakistan and is not allowed to commit any actions which may damage the honor and integrity of the motherland.
  3. Every student has to demonstrate tolerance, patience and politeness in his dealing with teachers and fellow students.
  4. Every student should respect the college teachers and the college administration and abide by the rules and regulations introduced from time to time. Any form of harassment of any student or other employee of the college or visitor is strictly prohibited.
  5. Every student must receive his education keenly and participate in sports and co-curriculum activities with honesty and sincerity.
  6. Every student must take care of public and college property and persuade others to do so.
  7. Every student, for any personal concern, has to directly contact the concerned Incharge. Improper interference in the academic, administrative, sporting, social or other activities is strictly prohibited.
  8. Every student shall regularly observe the college and class timing and shall ensure her regular presence in the classes such that her attendance shall not fall short of the required attendances of the public examining bodies.
  9. Every student shall regularly take class tests and home examinations.
  10. Every student must come to the college in the college prescribed uniform.
  11. Every student must provide correct information to the college administration, whenever required.
  12. Every student must observe the rules and regulations related to the class-room, common room, library, lawns, playgrounds and hostel.
  13. Every student shall pay all the college, board, or university dues well in time.
  14. Students are not allowed to use or keep cellular phones except allowed by the college administration under special circumstances.
  15. Every student shall observe the cultural and social norms of the society.
  16. Parents/ guardians of the regular students and ex-students can visit the college after 11:00 am for any official work.

In order to ensure the code of conduct and discipline, The Chief proctor, and the staff proctor may extend the range of duties of the proctorial monitors to check indiscipline and indecency among the students even outside the college premises.

Accountable irregularities:

Students are required to observe and maintain a reasonable standard of conduct. Any act of misconduct committed by a student inside or outside the campus mean the violation of the college discipline resulting in penalties of different intensities including expulsion, rustication or struck-off from the college.

Committing any or more of the following will be considered as misconduct and violation of college discipline:

Officers authorized to take disciplinary action:

The following persons are authorized to take disciplinary action by way of imposing penalties as specified under the heading ‘Range of Penalties’.

  1. The Chief Proctor
  2. Disciplinary Committee
  3. Principal of the College
  4. College Council

Any penalty enumerated under the heading ‘Range of Penalties’ may be imposed by the Principal or Chief Proctor of the College upon the recommendation of a Teacher, Head of the Department, Librarian, College Controller of Examination, Incharge sports, Head of any College Society, Discipline Committee and College Council.

Ranges of Penalties:

  1. The following penalties may, for act of indiscipline or misconduct or for sufficient reasons, be imposed on a student, namely:
  2. Written warning and information to the guardian
  3. Fine from Rs. 100 to Rs.5000
  4. Suspension from the Class/Department/College/Library or availing of any other facility
  5. Suspension or cancellation of scholarship, fellowship or any other financial assistance from any source or recommendation to be effect to the sanctionary agency
  6. Recovery of pecunlary loss caused to college property
  7. Debarring from participation in sports, debate, different societies, academic or refreshing tours and other such activities
  8. Disqualifying from holding any representative position in the class, college, hostel, sports and in similar other bodies
  9. Expulsion from the College/ Department/ Faculty/ Hostel/ Library for specified period
  10. Debarring from an examination
  11. Issue of migration certificate
  12. Issuance of character certificate with adverse remarks
  13. Prohibition of further admission or re-admission
  14. Struck-off the college rolls of a current academic/ session or from any extended period

Suspension of studentship:

Any student against whom a charge of misconduct has been initiated may be suspended from the college by the Principal which shall continue till the final decision of the competent authority.

A review of disciplinary action/ actions initiated against a student would lie with the officer issuing the orders. Within seven days, and an appeal would lie against the orders o the authorities mentioned in these rules to the College Council.

Amendment and Annulment of Rules:

The Principal in consultation with the College Council is competent to amend the rules or regulation, except those related to admission policy, in the interest of the institution.

UNDERTAKING

In compliance with the order of the supreme court of Pakistan, I. Mrs --------------------------daughter of ------------------, candidate for admission to ---------------------- at Government Degree College KTS, do hereby undertake that, after my admission and during the course of my studies at the College, in case of violate this undertaking. I shall expelled from the College without any further notice from the Principal of the College.
