Introduction

The Teaching of Islam begins with the word "IQRA" which means (to read). Our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said "Learn Knowledge from Cradle to Grave" & "seeking of knowledge is the duty of every Muslilm i.e Man & Woman".

Female education can play a pivotal role to paint a new scenaio of civilized, educated & Prosperous nation. Realizing this importance of education The Govt. Post-Graduate College for Women Bannu ws establised in November, 1994.

The institute is affiliated with BISE Bannu at Intermidiate level and with the University of Science & Technology, Bannu at the degree level.

The Institute has started working as Inter College but lator on degree classes have been started. Both the ficulties of Science and Arts were working at Intermediate level since its establishment. However faculty of science introduced at degree level from the session 2005. Later on this institute again upgraded in 2007 and now it has become Govt. Post-Graduate Collge for Women, Bannu.

The building of Science Block and Bachelor Hostel has been completed & we are much thankful to the former Chief Minister for his cooperation on these broad development.

From the time of its establishment this intitution is performing its vital role not only in providing formal education but imparting good moral values too. Nowadays hundreds of students are getting education here. The institute has been showing a remarkable result every year under the auspices of ingenious principal, qualified and hard working staff
