Introduction

Government Degree College is relatively new college as compared to other educational institutions in the District of Lakki Marwat, situated on main Bannu- Dera Ismail Khan Road.

Serai Naurang is one of the most vibrant, rapidly developing town and hub of commercial activities in the southern districts of the province but was lacking proper educational facilities. Establishment of a College was one of the top demands of the people of the area. To meet this need, Governor KPK, Lt. General Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah was pleased to establish this College in July 2002 and properly inaugurated it on 22 September 2002. Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Gilani was the Minister Education.

The College was initially housed in a tiny old building of the defunct department of Agriculture Engineering Sub Workshop, Serai Naurang. It was expanded with the passage of time.

The College has now fully functional class rooms, science and Computer laboratories, library, play ground/ parking space, a small mosque, a tube well, a overhead water tank and two staff bachelor residential suites. For security purpose the College boundary walls have been fortified with razor/ barbed wires, as well as raised its height.

The College imparts education to more than 1200 students from class 12th to 14th year of education including BS Classes. But due to rapid growth in the population of the town, there is further need for its expansion- building wise as well as class wise.
