Introduction

It is an occasion of great pleasure for me as Principal of Govt. Postgraduate College Timergara, Lower Dir, to welcome and felicitate all the students who want to get admission in this august institution; indeed Govt. Postgraduate College Timergara, built in 1969, is one of the leading academic institutions of government sector in Malakand Division that caters for the education, enlightenment, moral values and the inculcation of civic sense in the minds of the young generation of the area: for the attainment of such praiseworthy goals, the government has provided this institution with highly qielified teaching staff, state-of-the-art science laboratories and an impressivewide spread building. Thanks to the dedcation and hard work of the honorable professors, GPGC Timergara has produced a lot of intellectuals, scholars, scientists, doctors, engineers, bureaucrats and leaders; indeed, it is a matter of great pleasure for me that this institution has been my alma mater.
As district Lower Dir is one of the backward areas of the country, literacy ratio is not quite satisfactory herein; consequentty, it is our prime objective to provide equal opportunities and encourage students of the area to take admission in various disciplines and carry on their secondary and higher education; in this connection, merit will be our only criterion, in order to ensure the provision of quality education. I would like to appeal to all the desirous students and their parents to cooperate with us.
