Student societies and co-curricular activities available at S.M.K.M Government Degree College Kotha. For this purpose students are divided into societies and clubs. The main aim is to improve their artistic, humanistic and adventuristic skills. These vary widely from Literacy and Debating society, Sport society, Character building Society and many more. The character building society mainly focuses on the social uplift of people in this collge.

Objectives

Following are the some objectives of these societies.

To promote their learning and gaining experience from experts from various departments or fields
To promote a literary culture in the College, whereby, the students should be able to engage in creative activities such as debates, essay writing competitions and celebrating national days.
To arrange sports programs for the students within the College as well as sports fixtures with other educational institutions.
To arrange educational visits to the places of historical interest as well as scientific & technical learning.

Anti-Narcotics Day Celebration by College Societies

Our college also observed antinarcotics day this year in which students participated in great numbers and with full zeal and zest. Our honourable professors delivered speeches in this program in order to renew pledge for fighting against narcotics and to raise public awareness about negative effects of drugs. At the end speech session the honourable principal, worthy college teaching staff and students also organized a walk in this regard. They walked from college to the main road by holding banners to create public awareness about hazards of drugs use.
