Lanḍī Kōtal (Pashto: لنډي کوتل; Urdu: لنڈی کوتل) or Lwargai (Pashto: لواړګی Lwāṛgai) is a town in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, and the administrative capital of Khyber District. It was one of the largest towns in the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas, and is located 1,072 metres (3,517 ft) above sea level, on the route across the mountains to the city of Peshawar..Landi Kotal is at the western edge of the Khyber Pass.
Landi Kotal is a tourist destination. It was the terminus railway station of Khyber Pass Railway. A tourist train, the Khyber train safari was run on this railway. However, the train was closed down in 2006 due to washing away of the railway track and bridges by flood.
Landi Kotal main tribes are Shalmani, Shinwari, Afridi .
Govt. Postgraduate College is the only one male Govt. Sector College for both Intermediate and BS 4-Year Programme, which was established in 1974 and covered areas of 80 Canals,and the only College for intermediate Programme. Later on in 1981 Bachlor programm(B.A/B.Sc) was started. In 2017 B.S 4-Years Programme started in four disciplines.
