College History
Government College Chitral is located in the Cantonment Area, some 1.5km to the South West of the Town. Center. Founded in 1969, as an intermediate college, it was upgraded to Degree level in 1975. The college provides educational facilities in both science and Humanities at the intermediate and B.S (4 years) programme. The College is affiliated with BISE, Peshawar at Intermediate level, and SBB University Sheringal/ University of Chitral at BS level, for examination purpose. More than 2200 students are currently studding here.
The College is housed in a specious campus, containing academic block, administration block, postgraduate block, I.T block, Digital Library, Science laborites, 3 boy’s hostels, bachelors hostel, lawns and a playground. The staff residence colony is situated in Jughoor on the Left bank of the Chitral River.
