Timergara, the headquarter of district Dir lower, lies 180 kms toward the north of Peshawar, with the gigantic and gorgeous mountains, ever flowing fountains and rills and fruits orchards. Timergara presents captivating beauty of nature. Unlike the big cities, here we find clean and fresh air, free from pollution. The people of this district have a consuming passion for knowledge but due to lack of facilities, they have to go to other parts of the country to quench their thirst for knowledge. In order to cater to the educational requirements of the people of this area, the Govt. of Pakistan established this college at Timergara in 1969, the year the former state of Dir was merged in pakistan.Initially it was an intermediate college housed in Govt. high school Timergara. Later, it was shifted to its existing location in 1973. It was upgraded as a degree college and inaugurated by the then Governer of KPK. The Govt. of KPK has upgraded it to the level of Post Graduate College and the Dept. of Maths has also been launched. Situated at a distance of 3 kms from the city on Timergara Maidan road.
The building of the college comprises the following sections.
1. Main building of the College.
2. One doubled storied science block.
3. Two well equiped computer labs.
4. Three students hostels.
5. One College canteen.
6. Five banglaws for the staff.
7. One staff hostel
8. Post graduate block.
9. IT block
Apart from the above, a beautiful and suspercious Hall, Named "Jinnah Hall", after the name of the founder of the nation, has also been constructed with the main building, where various examinations, functions on important occasions and colorfull programs are held from time to time.
