College History
College History Latamber is considered one of the most popular and fertile (in terms of man-power) towns of District Karak, which is situated on Kohat-to-Bannu Road since time immemorial. As majority here consists of educated persons, therefore many people here are busy rendering their valuable services in civil and military services. This apart, the soil of this region has the honor and privilege of producing such flowers and beacons due to which the entire ecosphere of the region has turned into fragrance and light. Being a great seat of knowledge and literature and having better educational institutes, students from surrounding and adjacent areas are attracted for satisfying their learning and literary quest. In view of the dire and growing needs of the area with respect to education, the Government Degree College Latamber was brought into being which is one kilometer East of Latamber Town and about 25 kilometers West of District Headquarters on Bannu Road, which had a proper beginning on 1st May, 2001 and on August 1, 2001 it was inaugurated by Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah-Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Although the physical age of the College is not more but in a relatively brief time its outstanding performance and success got admitted by everyone which is highly indebted to the first ever Principal Prof Muhammad Roshan and the dwellers of Latamber, who by their untiring hard work and self-help transformed it into a commendable seat of learning of District Karak and rest of Southern districts. The College took its start in the building which had been built for Higher Secondary School in 1993 which was a symbol of ruins due to desertedness but within past few years due to the help of the both residents of Latamber and the Government, and on-time completion of developmental projects the supposed building which consists of Administration Block, Classrooms, Science Block for Laboratories, Library, Bachelor Hostel, Cafeteria and a big Hall has assumed the shape of a beautiful and redoubtable building now. Though the said building does not have hostel facility for students but it is certainly hoped that in the coming years this facility will also be made available due to the keen supervision, and interest of the government, and this College will too be considered in the best educational institutes of the province.
