Govt. Girls Degree College Sheikh Maltoon Mardan is situated on Toru Road opposite Sheikh Maltoon Town Mardan over a large area of 80 kanals. It was established on 1st July 2006 as the 2nd Girls College in the city of Mardan for fulfilling the educational requirements of the females of the area. Professor Sarwat Begum was the first Principal of the college. After her retirement Professor Salma Ghani is serving the institution as the Principal since 03-01-2017.
Ever since its inception, the college has progressed gradually in terms of infrastructure and the students’ strength. Presently the College is offering academic programs of Intermediate and BS four years degree level in which more than thirteen hundred students are enrolled till date. BS Program is offered in 06 disciplines out of which Botany and Chemistry disciplines are affiliated with Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Political Science, Zoology, Urdu & Islamic Studies disciplines are affiliated with Women University Mardan.In concordance with its vision and mission, the present administration aims at bringing this college at par with and to excel the best institutions of the area and outside. Therefore, all out efforts have been and are being made in the areas of academic excellence, discipline, curricular & co-curricular activities, as well as providing all possible facilities and an overall conducive learning & serving environment for the students and the staff equally. By the Grace of Almighty Allah considerable success has been achieved in this regard.
The main building is equipped with science labs, a computer and a language lab, a library and spacious classrooms. The big hall of the college has been renovated on self-basis and is the venue for all kinds of functions and examinations in the college.
