Govt Girls Degree College Thana, Malakand
<p>&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span style=&amp;quot;font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif&amp;quot;&amp;gt;GGDC Thana, situated in the scenic valley of Malakand Agency. The college started to function in 1975, in a two room building meant for GGH school Thana. Later, in 1980 the college was shifted to the present building annexed with GGH School used as Boys Hostel. With the passage of time, increasing population and further needs of the students the building felt insufficient to accommodate more students and offer new subjects. The college couldn&amp;amp;rsquo;t be upgraded to the level of Degree college, due to shortage of space and allied facilities. In 1992-93 and 1995-96, more land was acquired, which ultimately helped in the upgradation of college to the Degree level, in bachelor of Arts and later with construction of new science block in bachelor of Science.&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt; &amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span style=&amp;quot;font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif&amp;quot;&amp;gt;The college has a state of the art IT block, which can meet future challenges in the field of information technology. By the grace of Allah almighty and the cooperation of local community most of the problems have been solved. The college still face staff deficiency in various science subjects, which has been covered by hiring qualified personnel from the local market. The provincial higher education has also been requested time again to sought out staff deficiency.&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt; &amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;span style=&amp;quot;font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif&amp;quot;&amp;gt;The college is catering the educational needs of the female students of the area and from the adjacent areas due to its hostel facility for resident students, which also needs attention to extend the same. The college also provide residence facility to the non-local staff members, in the shape of facilitated staff hostel. The college is working hard to give social awareness to the female students of the area besides its educational needs. These students are providing valuable services in various fields of life and helping to build the nation. &amp;lt;a name=&amp;quot;_GoBack&amp;quot;&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;</p>
