Govt. College of Management Sciences No.1 Bannu

<p>Government College of Management Sciences No. 1, Township Bannu, is a public-sector institution operating under the Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was established during the academic session of <strong>1971&ndash;72</strong> as the <strong>Government Commercial Training Institute, Bannu</strong>. At that time, it functioned as an intermediate-level institution and offered a one-year Certificate in Commerce followed by a one-year Diploma in Commerce in accounting and shorthand.</p> <p>During the academic session of <strong>1980&ndash;81</strong>, the institution was upgraded from intermediate to degree level. It was upgraded again in <strong>2004</strong> to postgraduate level with the introduction of the two-year Master of Commerce program. In <strong>2007</strong>, the college introduced the four-year BBA (Honours) program. Following this development, its name was changed from Government Postgraduate College of Commerce, Bannu, to <strong>Government College of Management Sciences, Bannu</strong>. The four-year BS Commerce program was subsequently introduced in the <strong>2017&ndash;18 academic session</strong>.</p> <p>Since its establishment, the college has contributed to commerce, business and management education in Bannu and its surrounding areas. Its academic approach combines classroom lectures with presentations, assignments, examinations, computer-based practical work and internship training. This combination is intended to develop students&rsquo; academic knowledge, professional competence and understanding of practical business problems.</p> <h2>Programs Offered</h2> <p>According to the current admission information published by the Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the college offers the following programs:</p> <ol start="1"> <li><strong>BS Commerce &mdash; Four-Year Degree Program</strong><br /> This undergraduate program covers financial accounting, economics, business communication, management, marketing, finance, human-resource management, research methods, entrepreneurship, taxation, auditing and related commerce disciplines.</li> <li><strong>Computer Sciences &mdash; Intermediate Level</strong><br /> This program provides students with intermediate-level education in computer science and related compulsory subjects. The college&rsquo;s official listing shows an approved intake of 90 students for this program.</li> <li><strong>Diploma in Commerce &mdash; Accounts Group</strong><br /> This two-year diploma develops knowledge of financial accounting, business mathematics and statistics, commerce, economics, banking, communication skills and computer-based accounting. The current listed capacity is 90 students.</li> <li><strong>Diploma in Commerce &mdash; Shorthand/Secretarial Practice Group</strong><br /> This program trains students in English or Urdu shorthand, typing, office procedures, business correspondence, accounting, commerce, economics, communication skills and business information technology. The current listed capacity is 60 students.</li> </ol>
