Introduction

Chemistry is the branch of science that studies the characteristics of matter and the changes they undergo when they are mixed together. It is central to most of science and technology, blending at one extreme into Physics, Mathematics and Engineering and at the other end, into earth and life sciences. It is like a key to all the other sciences and a part of every aspect of our world. Chemistry is one of the oldest, most practical and rewarding professions by increasing man's knowledge of the matter, chemistry promotes the development of new methods for combating disease and production of better clothing, food and shelter. Keeping in view this significance of the subject, Government Girls Postgraduate College No.1 Abbottabad has launched BS and MSc programs to provide an opportunity to those who want to make it their career.
