Government Postgraduate College for Women Mandian, Abbottabad is one of the leading institutions functioning with the finest tradition in public education. Besides imparting formal education, the College seeks to nurture a generation with knowledge of true spirit of Islam and a vision of broad humanity to turn an ethically and religiously hostile world into a peaceful and harmonious whole.

The inception of the College dates back to 5^th May, 1995 when its foundation was laid with the assistance of Asian Development Bank. It was formally inaugurated by Sardar Mehtab Khan, the then Chief Minister KP, with the aim to produce female learners capable enough to meet the intellectual, social, political, and economic needs of the modern times.

The College is situated on the College Road, adjacent to important educational institutions. Its extensive body consists of aesthetic academic blocks with spacious classrooms, sports grounds, science labs, a multilingual lab, a central library, a multi-purpose hall and two Science blocks (Umar Khayyam and Ibn-e-Sina). The College also caters to the girl students of far-flung areas by providing them the hostel facility on affordable charges.

With a short span of twenty-seven years, this College has gained the status of one of the eminent government-run institutions of Hazara. It is a matter of great satisfaction that with the help of competent teaching faculty and efficient management, the institution is making best possible efforts in providing quality education to the girl students of the region.
